This is the modern day scene from the same location with the former western half of
the earlier sheds long gone. Interestingly the damage done by the accident to the eastern
and remaining shed is visible with a section of repaired brickwork standing out on
this south wall, and the perimeter of the area repaired has been highlighted in the photograph.
There is a narrow platform on the western wall i.e. on the outside wall, which
was once used for unloading in the western section of shed. This narrow platform was
later used when the railways put doors on the west of the present day shed and with
the large verandah they were able to use the original shunting track to unload goods
directly into the remaining shed. Information and images courtesy of Ken McKimmie
