Step into a vibrant celebration of culture at Buda’s beloved Hungarian Festival on April 18 — the standout event of the season.
Presented in partnership with the acclaimed FONO Hungarian dance group, this lively festival brings the spirit of Hungary to life with captivating folk dance performances, energetic live music from the Vardos Trio, and a unique Dance House experience led by professional choreographers visiting from Budapest.
Indulge your senses with authentic Hungarian cuisine, from hearty gulyás simmered over an open fire to freshly made, golden lángos. Wander through market stalls, discover traditional folk art, and enjoy a range of free activities designed especially for children.
The day also features a special silversmith showcase honouring Ernest Leviny, along with guided tours of Buda’s beautiful historic home and gardens.
It’s on Saturday, April 18, from 11am to 4pm at Buda Historic Home and Garden, 42 Hunter Street, Castlemaine.
