Malmsbury artist Gabrielle Martin is the winner of the 2022 Maldon Portrait Prize.
The winner of the Maldon Artist Network’s (MANet) ‘I Be Human’ themed prize was announced at the opening of the highly anticipated 2022 event at Edge Galleries in Maldon last Saturday evening February 5.
The prize attracted entries from all over Australia.
The judge of the 2022 Maldon Portrait Prize esteemed artist and 2018 Archibald winner Yvette Coppersmith expressed her delight at the quality and diversity of the exhibiting portraits which she says made her task of selecting the winner, Gabrielle Martin’s portrait ‘The Ecologist’, all the more challenging.
