Members of the Friends of Red Cross Castlemaine gathered at Hot & Crusty Bakery Cafe this week to celebrate the service of several of their hardworking long time members.
Among the award recipients recognised were Margaret Hynam-Smith – 60 years, Maureen Inwood – 50 years, Margaret Boyle – 20 years, Janett Steet – 10 years and Malinda Melbourne – 10 years.
The ladies also honoured the late Betty Adamson who amassed an incredible 30 years of service to the organisation prior to her death in December 2021 and was renowned locally as a fierce advocate and tireless worker for Red Cross.
Friends of Red Cross president Sue Tribe said that unfortunately Margaret Hynam-Smith was unable to make it to the celebration but they look forward to presenting her with her award honour.
Fellow member Maureen Inwood will be officially presented with her 50 year service medallion at Government House on International Red Cross Day in May. See the Mail for more…
