Local theatre group Crones of the Apocalypse is presenting Medea – A Theatrical Exploration as part of the Castlemaine Fringe.
The events began with the screening of Pasolini’s film Medea (1969), featuring American-born Greek soprano Maria Callas in her only film role, on Monday evening at the Phee Broadway Theatre, followed by two theatrical events wherein the Crones freely interrogate Euripides’ play.
The Crones of the ‘Acropolis’ are talented local actors Bev Geldard, Bridget Haylock and Sue Ingleton. Be sure to catch one of the events at Wesley Hill Hall tonight, March 26 at 7.30pm, or next Wednesday April 2 at 7.30pm. For ages 12 and up, not suitable for young children.
