Castlemaine’s Camp Reserve will be bustling with activity this Sunday April 12 for one of the region’s largest and most successful events, the 40th annual Castlemaine Lions Club Swap Meet.
The popular event is expected to once again draw thousands of visitors through the gates from across the state and beyond to buy and browse from 580 plus stalls selling all manner of things.
Castlemaine Lions Club Swap Meet chairman, Ron Gartside, says the fuel crisis has done little to deter stall holders.
“We have had a couple cancel, but those vacancies have been quickly snapped up and patrons can expect to find a treasure trove of vintage and veteran car and motorcycle parts, memorabilia, antiques, collectables and bric-a-brac.
“You may even find a vehicle or two up for grabs,” he said.
“We have stallholders coming from all over Victoria including as far away as Quambatook and a huge contingent heading over from South Australia.”
The Swap Meet is the club’s major annual fundraising event and the money raised will be used to support a range of community groups and projects.
Gates open at 6am. Entry is $8. Children under 15 free.
