MainFM recently spent the day with the grade 6 class of Castlemaine North Primary School and made a radio show.
Tune in to MainFM at midday on Sunday August 16, 23 and 30 to hear the voices of our local school children.
Hear the students interviewing each other and sharing stories about school, friendship, their favourite past times, hopes and dreams.
Mixed in with shout outs and song requests. It’s a radio show special on MainFM, brought to you by Castlemaine North Primary School.
Station manager Steph Riddel said it was a delight to spend the day with the grade 6 students as part of their Radio In Schools program.
“The goal of the program is to empower students to become confident storytellers, to spark their passion for radio and media production, learn how to navigate digital media creation with integrity, and engage their inquisitive nature,” she said.
“Students learnt how to use our recording equipment and how to create content for an engaging, informative and entertaining show, and we had a lot of fun doing it.”
Many topics are covered in the three-part series, airing on MainFM at midday on the last three Sundays of August. Highlights include reflections on the bushfires with students writing poems of their experience of the harrowing day, amongst light- hearted interviews, stories and songs.
All episodes will be published on MainFM’s mixcloud, keep an eye on the socials for the link.
