There has been much discussion about the Council’s decision regarding Camp Reserve.
It’s disappointing that some people have chosen to target and deride others. It’s a case of “playing the man, not the ball”, rather than actually engaging in the points made by the Gold Camp campaigners. There are some ridiculous and completely inaccurate claims made too.
It is very important to engage in respectful dialogue. We live in a democracy and everyone is entitled to their view. All of us use the facilities and public spaces in our town. No one group should have more of a claim to a particular space. All of us play rates and contribute to our society in many ways.
Let’s keep our discussion civil and respectful and let’s preserve our public historic areas for all to enjoy.
