Pride Round celebrated

Castlemaine Football Netball Club's AFL Central Vic Women's sides first home games of the season contained many highs and lows for the Magpies Under 18 Girls and Senior Women. The CFNC thanks everyone who came down to support the teams and celebrate the Pride Round matches which were capped off with a barbecue on Sunday afternoon.

Murray to Moyne medal honour

The Murray to Moyne cycle relay has formally recognised Castlemaine Rouleurs cycling team captain Gary Bunn for his long-standing contribution to the relay and his fundraising efforts for Dhelkaya Health.

Bowlers celebrated

Last Wednesday evening the Ladies’ Pairs final was played out at Harcourt Bowling Club between the teams of Carrol Frost and Judi Miles and Judy Ewing and Wendy Chaplin. Although the night was cold and it was played under lights - so some trying conditions - the gallery was treated to a tight game and great bowling by both teams over two and a half hours. The winning team was Judi Miles and Carrol Frost, with runners-up Wendy Chaplin and Judy Ewing.

Golfers raise $800!

Tuesday's nine hole competition at Mount Alexander Golf Club saw Annette Botten win the ladies stroke round with 35. Robyn Scoles with 14 won the putting. Peter Kepsner won the men's stroke round with 32 nett after a countback from Jeremy Challender. Jeremy won the putting with 13.

Stubbs tackles Masters at Augusta 

The son of former Castlemaine locals Peter Stubbs and Fiona Whatley was scheduled to hit the fairways in the United States this week.

Golf news

On Tuesday with the inclement weather conditions the ladies at Mount Alexander Golf Club chose to stay in the clubhouse for a coffee while the men chose risk the chance of rain and play the nine hole Stableford event, Jeremy Challender with 18 points won the day with Brian Baker runner-up on 16 points.
