On Wednesday, Federal MP Lisa Chesters joined local landcare groups, representatives of Mount Alexander Shire Council, North Central CMA, DEECA and Djandak at Forrest Creek in Castlemaine, to announce $1.8 million dollars in funding for the revitalisation of the urban waterway.
The goldrush, urbanisation and channelisation have so severely degraded Forrest Creek in Castlemaine that it is no longer recognisable.
