Yodhi Fest and Wordspoken

Lot 19 artspace and friends are throwing a party for their friend and fellow artist Yodhi Bergman – a benefit to help her through cancer treatment and recovery. 'Yodhi Fest' as the special event has been dubbed will take place at the artspace in Langslow Street, Castlemaine on Saturday July 20. The event will kick off at 2pm and run until late and will be hosted by Jimay Falcon. Lot 19 supporter Fionna Allan said it will be a special event not to be missed. "This is a celebration of the wonder that is Yodhi, who is a much-loved local artist and member of our community and has recently received a serious cancer diagnosis and has been undergoing surgery and treatment, with more to come," she said. The theme of the event will be 'Shivoo'. One of the event organisers Jane Goodrich said the Shivoo events which ran from 2015 - 2019 go down in Castlemaine history as a magical series of cabaret style events. "Yodhi has been at the heart of this celebration and so it’s only fitting to celebrate Yodhi and her creative vision with a day of art, music and performances at our beloved Lot 19," she said "There are many ways to contribute to this fundraiser from donating art to volunteering at the event to dressing up in your most spectacular costumes and coming along for some enchanting fun." Yodhi Bergman said The Shivoo Guild is made up of a rare team of shapeshifting artists with a shared intuition and magical vision in common. "Their phantasmagorical events are made up of secrets and surprises where multiple performances take place simultaneously so as no one person could possibly witness every act or encounter. Shivoo guests are escorted by bus hosted by mystery characters to an unknown location where the curious and creative can experience the unexpected. Costumes are vital and participants play a crucial role in making each experience come to life. To Shivoo is to become a part of an otherworldly dreamscape with connection, play and community as the soul focus," Bergman said. This fundraising and celebratory event will feature live music from: Sugar Fed Leopards, Davo - Central Vic’s best and only Devo Tribute act), Lucie Thorne, Bench Press, J.P. Shilo, Gold Coast Leathers and S.F.X. Plus DJ’S Jen Moore and Mickey Young will have you up and dancing and there will also be special performances from Carly Fern, Emilie Bloom and Briega Young. Plus food, a bar and art to enjoy! The dress code is 'Resplendent!' So come in your best Shivoo garb and/or accessorise with a splash of Boob energy.
