The Maldon Market is a monthly farmers’ and makers’ market; offering the best handmade products and produce from local growers, sellers and artisans. Featuring specially selected stall holders from the creative heart of Victoria. From soap to soup, fruit to furniture, plants to pants, jewellery to jumpers, the Maldon Market has something for everyone. With a passion for grass roots creativity and quality products, the Maldon Market provides visitors the chance to meet the dedicated makers, bakers, sewers and growers behind the exciting range of things the market has on offer. The next market will be held on Sunday July 14 from 9am to 2pm at the Maldon Neighbourhood Centre, 1 Church Street Maldon. 

The Castlemaine Coffee Cruises commenced in September 2018 and have been a regular event on the third Sunday of every month- the next date is Sunday July 21. Drivers of specialty autos – street rods, customs, classics, restored cars, trucks and motorcycles, gather from all areas in Victoria at the Castlemaine Visitors Information Centre in Mostyn Street from 9.30am and depart for a chosen destination at 10.30am sharp. 

All are welcome – street rods, customs, restored, street machines, muscle cars, chrome bumpers, motorcycles, trucks, classics . . . . 

The Wesley Hill Community Market- a quality community market since 1975. 

Explore over 60 stalls and find diverse cultural experience with Thai, Chinese and Turkish cuisines, local road coffee, chai tea, breads, cakes, fruit and veg, local honey and preserves as well as plants, flowers and bric-a-brac.On every Saturday from 9am to 1pm. Admission and parking is free. 149 Pyrenees Hwy, Wesley Hill- opposite Albion Motel with parking available off Wallace Street. 

Get your Frocks on for Fringe and celebrate 30 years of Priscilla Queen of the Desert as part of a special fundraising event at Castlemaine’s Theatre Royal on Friday July 12. The night will feature all the fun of a Fringe event, with local drag queen Polly Filla as MC, a catwalk Farshun parade starring you and all your mates plus drag performances, door prizes, and a screening of the iconic Australian film ‘The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ (M).

The Castlemaine Community Lunch runs every Tuesday during school terms from 12.30pm to 1.30pm at the Castlemaine Town Hall, 25 Lyttleton Street. For the suggested donation of $7 people can enjoy a two course meal (main and dessert), meet community members, catch up with old friends and find out what’s going on. 

The menu emphasises seasonal fresh vegetables and fruit, with much of it donated by local suppliers.
