The Castlemaine Mail Junior Sports Star of the Week is talented Castlemaine Goldfields soccer player, keen swimmer, basketballer, cricketer and athletics enthusiast Orlando Buckle.

Sport: Soccer

How long have you been training? I’ve been doing Mini Roo’s since I was 5, so for the last four years.

Can you tell us about some of your sporting highlights? Being able to have a really powerful and accurate penalty shot. Also my strength in the water, my long jump capability and my shoulder capability.

Who is an athlete you admire? Pele, the Brazilian soccer player.

What are your sporting goals? To score 1000 goals in soccer and a smaller milestone is to reach 100 goals. I also want to push my-self to the limits in all sports.

Do you play any other sports? Swimming, athletics, a little bit of basketball and cricket.

Any highlights from those? I’ve won all of my swimming races for Green house since I was a Prep, all the way to Grade 3.
