Winter warmth at parkrun
Castlemaine’s cold weather has begun but that didn’t stop 85 parkrunners and nine volunteers from getting out and about to enjoy the bright colours on display in the Botanical Gardens on Saturday morning.

The Castlemaine Secondary College (CSC) Year 9/10 girls soccer team scored in the last two minutes of their nail-biting grand final match against rivals Bendigo South East (BSE), securing them the win.

The Tuesday nine hole competition at Mount Alexander Golf Club saw Myrl Hauser win the ladies stroke round with 31-1/2 nett, runner-up was Jo Kepsner 33-1/2 nett. Fleur Smith won the putting with 12. Bill Clark won the countback with Bob Pratt and Charles Cilia to claim victory with 18 points.

Big wins for Maldon
Round 4 was a great day out for the Maldon Football Netball Club with the Dons winning all games of football and almost all games of netball, except for Under 13s, securing the Cole Cup for another year.
