The Castlemaine Mail Junior Sports Star of the Week is talented Harcourt cricketer and keen football player Lucas Hartnett.

Name: Lucas Hartnett

Age: 9

School: Elphinstone Primary School

Sport: Cricket (Harcourt Cricket Club)

How long have you been training? A long time.

Can you tell us about some of your sporting highlights? The first time I almost caught someone out. I didn’t catch the ball but it was exciting when it came my way and the game I hit a long ball. It wasn’t a 4 but almost made it.

Who is an athlete you admire? Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell.

What are your sporting goals? To try and bowl someone out.

Do you play any other sports? Football

Any highlights from footy? My first mark and getting a few Best and Fairest votes last year.
