MASG turns 18!

The MASG’s Wash Against Waste trailer is just one of the positive initiatives of the organisation.

Mount Alexander Sustainability Group is celebrating its 18th birthday with a Members and Community forum next Wednesday November 13.

The community is invited to attend the celebratory event at the Norther Arts Hotel in Barker Street from 7.30 pm.

Those attending will hear updates on MASG projects and be asked to contribute ideas for 2025 and join in light refreshments with drinks available at bar prices.

The key guest speaker will be the Manager of Consumer Energy Solutions at the new State Energy Commission Ruchika (Chika) Deora.

Deora will talking about the SEC and the renewable energy future. There will also be a launch of MASG’s Soil Health, Nutrition and Organic Management Guide. Established in 2006 with the aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from Mount Alexander, the MASG has been a community leader in promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste reduction and sustainable agriculture.

MASG has been a key driver in the establishment of roof top solar (now MASH), energy efficiency programs, bioenergy, community gardens, local food security, the Repair Café, the Wash Against Waste Trailer seen at many community events, Regenerative Agriculture and Healthy Soils.
