Castlemaine Community House’s major fundraiser and most anticipated event of the year – the Spring Ball, is celebrating its 30th anniversary next month!

To honour the occasion, the Spring Ball organisers are embracing the theme of ‘Saturn Returns’ for the October 19 event, inspired by the astrological phenomenon that occurs every 30 years when Saturn returns to its original position in the sky.

Castlemaine Community House’s Executive Officer, Mahira Sobral, invites the community to join them for a stellar celebration marking three decades of fundraising for the beloved community organisation.

“Our theme pays tribute to the planets, cosmos, and stars – it’s the perfect chance to get spacey.

“Your ticket to the Spring Ball isn’t just a pass to the most fabulous night in Castlemaine – it’s also you supporting essential programs at the Community House, such as Community Lunch, accessible education programs, Castlemaine Pride and many other essential services that support Castlemainians to feel connected to their community,” she said.

This year, the Spring Ball is taking over Castlemaine Town Hall and nearby Frederick Street/Mechanics Lane, with an outdoor stage and bar. Entertainment will include Castlemaine legends, M79 and Apelgate, as well as performances from the Hot Moves No Pressure 2024 dancers.

The Castlemaine Fringe Festival will be doing a cocktail bar from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Castlemaine Community House will run a bar with drinks at friendly prices and a light supper will be provided.

This year there will also be a raffle featuring amazing prizes donated by local businesses such as Mount Alexander Timber & Hardware, Wonderpants, Health Actions Castlemaine, Bendigo Discovery Centre, SJ Plumbing Central Victoria and many more!

There will be prizes for ‘Best Dressed’, and memories of the night can be captured at the free photobooth, thanks to Cantwell Real Estate.

“Everyone is welcome. If you’ve never been to the Spring Ball – this year is your year!” Mahira said.

This year’s ball will be held at the Castlemaine Town Hall on Saturday October 19 with the action taking off at 7.30pm and set to touch down around 1am.

Tickets are $50/$35 concession.

Tickets can be purchased online at https://events.humanitix.com/spring-ball-afe7rphh or in person at Castlemaine Community House or Green Goes the Grocer.
