Easter in the Shire

It was a busy weekend across the Mount Alexander Shire as the community gathered at various events to celebrate Easter. The festivities kicked off with the opening of the 147th Maldon Easter Fair on Thursday evening with the lighting of the tower lights on Mount Tarrengower and the Aussie Scone Bake, followed by the Way of the Cross multi-denomination event on Good Friday in Castlemaine which saw representatives of local churches and community members stop at various ‘stations’ across the town to observe readings.

For those who like records, the 169 participants which attended Castlemaine Parkrun on Saturday comprised the highest number of participants in six years!
