Castlemaine District Cricket Association senior competition continued last Saturday January 18 with A Grade sides winding up day two in round nine and A Reserve playing one day matches in round 12.

Highlights of the round were Taradale A Reserve openers Regan Williams (111) and Brock Fletcher (72) 196 run partnership against Newstead at Cricket Willow.

Castlemaine United A Grade bowler James Chaffey claimed 5-32 in their win over Newstead, whilst Muckleford A Reserve bowler Andrew Butcher took 5-44 in their victory over Campbells Creek.

The Women’s comp will resume next Friday January 31, and B Grade and C Grade (Under 16) sides are scheduled to return to the crease next Saturday February 1.

The CDCA T20 grand final was scheduled to be contested last night January 23 between Pool A winners Muckleford and Pool B winners Newstead. See next week’s Mail for results.
